I Have the Mem'ry

By: Thomas Brooks Moore

The one whose arms hold me at night
Is the one whom I love.
His arms are full of fire--stong and sure.
Yet, gentle and tender are they.
In his embrace I am safe and warm,
Held close to him, my head on his arm.

I have the mem'ry of your arms about me;
I have the mem'ry of your kiss.
I have the mem'ry of your voice
Telling me that you love me:
I have this!

And your dear eyes smile still, in my heart,
Denying we are apart.
Oh, when I have this mem'ry,
I have my whole self.
For when I have this mem'ry,
I have my wealth, I have my wealth!

How could I falter or complain
When I know that I shall know
Your dear love again?

I have the mem'ry!
