Nothing is what it seems
Nothing is what it seems
An empty hole inside her heart
No will-to-live is found
Her tears roll down her face
As she’s lying on the ground
She doesn’t know how she got there
Only the pain she feels now
She knows she has to get up
If only someone told her how
I tried to help her up
But only found that I couldn’t
I wanted to be there for her
But knew inside I shouldn’t
I saw she needed help
Like she was calling out to me
And the only things I knew
Were the things I could see
All around it seemed she got hurt
By the ones she thought she loved
Always lying to her face
She was pushed and she was shoved
I tried to explain it to her
I tried to make her understand
Never listening to my words
Never taking hold of my outstretched hand
The important things were hidden
Her thoughts kept in her head
The only way she is distracted
Is by counting the tears she’s shed
For a while she listened to me
She understood the things I said
Taking her mind off her pain
And thinking deep thoughts in her bed
Wanting so bad to be alone
To finally be lost inside her room
Waiting there for eternity
So falling in love would be her doom
Sifting through her mind
She counts her many fears
Slowly she inhales
Releasing many tears
She can only help others
Once she’s helped herself
To her that seems impossible
Because what she feels she can’t help
Waiting in her room alone
With her many nightmarish dreams
Waiting for her own death to come
Wondering if this is one of fates evil schemes
She wants to be alone
And so that to her I’ll give
Because I know if I leave her
Without me she can live
So, here I go I’m leaving
Never to come back again
And never to repeat the words
Of you being my best friend
I told you it was okay
To tell me what was deep inside
But you only listened to him
Convincing you those thoughts you had to hide
You need to know the truth
You need to let go of your dreams
And by reading over this poem
You notice that nothing is what it seems
