Love lost in the angry ocean
A sea of living, in storms
sunk beneath the waves
At times it surfaced briefly
Sweet windows of joy

Love lost in the whirlpool
of survival, abused, discarded
Taken, returned, enjoyed
But never nurtured
Rather stolen, consumed

Love lost through self indulgence
Sweet milk turned bitter
Love mirrored in hate, anger
Destroyed in ignorance, insensitivity
Love lost, forever
