love denied

I lie awake and wonder:
is love just one big blunder?
a churning sea, a shining star?
fireworks, burning fast and far?
perhaps none or all of these,
for my answers only at me tease;
but until I faint from heart-felt heat,
until my true love I chance to meet,
like a blind man denying sight,
so shall I deny this light.
