Blinding Love

By: Rachael Howard

What sweet poetic injustice this life brings--
The masses of people blinded by material things.
Let me hide myself in you.

Hold me far from this bitter world outside,
So full of anger, sadness and murderous pride.
Show me the sweetness of love again.

Please remind me of our perfect bliss,
The joy that abounds from a simple kiss.
Just wrap your arms around me.

When I close my eyes, your face appears.
The sound of your voice soothes all my fears.
My life is naught without you.

Keeping up with life's hideous pace,
How I only long to see you face-to-face.
You find I shall risk it all.
