Matriarch of My Heart

By: Charles Reade Zachritz III

In this big world
You’re all I know
I take thoughts of you
Wherever I go

You make such a difference
In each of my days
That people can notice
And I hear them say

“My, something’s changed
He’s not quite the same
He seems to be joyful
He’s cleansed of his pain
He tells us the reason
He speaks of this girl
She came out of no where
And brightened his world”

I try to convey to them
How precious you are
But the concept escapes them
Like God’s shooting stars

He sent me an angel
That walks on the ground
I’ll give her a throne
Present her a crown

You’re a fairytale Princess,
Matriarch of my heart
I wish on this star
That we never will part
