Chapter of My Life

By: Sunken Tears Of Regret

My life is like a movie screen,
my feelings are torn right at the seam.
I shared my personal thoughts and feelings,
even though I'm your daughter,
you rolled your eyes toward the ceiling.
You said you had no trust in me,
well Mom, the feeling's mutual, can't you see?
Who are you to be the judge?
On my opinions I wouldn't budge.
You want me to take responsibility for my life,
how can I with this overbearing strife?
You feel you know what's best for me,
why can't you let me live my life the way I feel free?
You said you wanted me to get out,
when I do you won't hear an argument or a shout.
You said you cared for me no more,
don't worry, it's embedded in my memory, I'm sure.
My life has just begun and is barely new,
You are growing old and your days are few.
