DID WE EVER FALL IN LOVE

By: BINO ABEL VARGHESE

In the grey tumult of yesteryears
oft silence falls, the bitter past part
the acrimonious echoes of shed tears
bring passion, love and revenge into the heart

The time spent together
with your lover in arms
the time spent to gather
chaffs of future to barn

All but in vain
'coz when love turns colour to the nuptial chord
none takes the main
but cartloads of money and body free from lard

Years have flown
the more we've grown
yet this spirit, the spirit of love
placidly mocks the fate of life

Heavenly beauty, I've lost your face forever
Epitome of Cleverness, how meticulously
you wove the mental barricade
what a revalation! but at least it's true
After all it saved me time, time to live for me

Remember love is life
but love is blind
so... the poor love i've proved to you
sweetheart, it was a blind fool who loved you
