You were too good to be true
I don't sleep as well at night as I used to-
Every silent moment is hard on my ears.
As I lay here in my lonely bed,
Thoughts eventually fill my head and I cry in the night.
Tears fall, unheeded, while questions come to me, unanswered.
My heart reaches out for the lamp in the darkness
But it evades my grasp and I am left all alone.
Wondering what happened to us.
You were too good to be true.
But through that darkness- a new light shines,
I reach for it and grasp it firmly in my hand.
For waiting there is someone who I never thought would love me,
He pulls me safely into his arms and I find a pure, true love.
