One Shining Moment
A crisp spring morning was under way
I sat alone drinking my latte
She walked into the shop and glanced at me
And for one shining moment, I could be free
Gone were the stresses of my life
Dormant were my pain and strife
She sat and wrote and sipped her tea
Occasionally looking back at me
She would never love me, I thought
Back and forth my mind fought
I did nothing; I just left her be
'Cause she would never love a guy like me
I finished my latte and opened my books
Why couldn't I understand the meaning of her
looks
I never knew that she wanted me
So she sat alone, still drinking her tea
Her tea now gone, she left the shop
My freedom came to an abrupt stop
She left by herself; she should have with me
But alone I sit and alone I'll be
