I Read Out Loud
I read out loud to you,
a poem I had found.
You listened with an open ear,
as I poured out my heart.
I wish I could have captured
that moment in a bottle.
I wish I could have capped
it off, to save it for next year.
I wrote you a letter,
and I gave you my heart.
I talked to you of passion,
and cried for you some tears.
And now you are angry,
of what I do not know.
You have changed so much,
too much for my heart to bear.
But in the darkness, when no one is near,
I feel the tears start pouring out
of eyes that shine with pain.
I guess it all started, when I read out loud to you.
