Unfortunately, Yet

By: Kelly Frances Anderson

Hopelessly afraid of falling.
Not much has changed with time.
No one could love you more, nor longer than I.
Don't look into my eyes, don't dare tempt my heart.
Desire comes so easily, yet hidden inside my soul
Deny, deny, deny.
Silence does not testify.
How can one want to give so much
To one who doesn't want to have.
The closer I get... The stronger the wind.
I cannot fight the storm with the warmth of my love
For, I have chosen to turn and walk the other way.
The chill is always more bearable against your back.
Yet, your laughter still heals my dying heart.
