The Damages Of Love

By: Biana Yanovsky

Love hurts so much,
Love burns for so long.
Beats up the heart,
Sings the same painful song.
Tears at one's life,
Destroys one's days.
Allows the guilty to wander,
While the innocent one pays.

Love casts a spell upon the weak,
Love leaves them robbed, without hope.
Making them more vulnerable,
Unable, unwilling to cope.
Turns their nights cold,
Empty, unsatisfying.
Taunts them during the days,
Leaving them sorrowful and crying.

Love brings obstacles,
Love brings pain.
Can brighten your days,
Or drive you insane.
Can send you flying,
Or bury you deep into the ground.
It gives no warning before it attacks,
It makes not a single sound.
