King With No Throne

By: Norman Dean VanPelt

My life was almost taken
without you by my side,
it would've been o.k.
Life without you,
is death walking around.
Cold heart feels
like frozen winter ground.
The emptyness inside
only you this can abide.
All I see is in death
that I could hide.
Living alone
a king with no throne.
May as well be a peasant,
life's no longer pleasant.
