Heavenly Rewards

By: Roger Dale Grant

See a boy who’s trying to be a man
A modest ring I place on your hand
My honesty, each word will be true
Knowing how to love only one, you

Countless times I could steal a kiss
Wrapped up in your infectious bliss
Holding you, still wanting you near
Whispering silly words into your ear

Millions to earn wanting to succeed
Jet set, the in crowd you didn’t need
Simplicity depicts the woman I love
Without end it’s you I’m thinking of

My heart softened, one starry night
Suddenly our love would take flight
The Heavenly rewards I can’t repay
I still reap them each and everyday
