For Dale: Always In My Heart
A lot happens in life and draws our tears,
Overwhelms us and increases our fears.
But despite what has come to pass,
Don't let the anguish be the only thing to last.
You have been, and are, a very dear friend;
I will hold on to that till my life is at an end.
But it pains me to see you this way -
When hurt and misery over you hold sway.
I wish there was something I could do -
Make things better and take away what's hurting you.
Unfortunately I can't... I don't have that magic wand;
But I can sit with you and hold your hand.
I will always listen to you when you need to talk,
And be with you in spirit as you walk.
Just promise me- whatever you do
Whenever you need me, you'll let me talk to you.
I'll tell you this from the start:
Dale, you are ALWAYS in my heart.
So, please don't cast your heart into stone -
You see... you are never really alone.
