How many times did I say those words?
"Don’t leave me, please!"
The phone trembling in my hands
Water running down my broken face
"I love you" were my simple words
Each letter spoken from my heart
I could feel my chest being torn
Every time you doubted them
Repeating those words violently
"Don’t leave me please!"
I was becoming more vulnerable
As my head slowly fell into my hands
"I love you" were my simple thoughts

I just knew I couldn’t keep you

Listening to those words silently
