Raw Emotion
I want to see you cry;
I want to see tears fall down your cheeks.
I want to see you cry after finding out a lie;
I want you to be miserable for weeks.
I want to see you scream;
I want to see you fight for something you mean,
I want to hear your voice filled with anguish;
I want to hear you say you were crushed.
I want to know you're in pain;
I want to see you stand outside, staring at the relentless rain.
I want you to realize something's wrong;
I want you to sing a meaningful song.
I want to see you beg to stop the hurt;
I want to see you go down on your knees in the dirt.
I want to see you throw something out of pure anger;
I want to see you yell at a passing stranger.
I want to see you write a letter to no one;
I want to know you got no satisfaction out of it--none.
I want to see raw emotion radiate from you,
Because I'll know what to do.
I'll kiss away your tears;
I'll hold you until you stop crying.
I'll cushion the blow of the lie;
I'll try to make you smile.
I'll listen to you as you scream;
I'll stand behind you as you fight for that something you mean.
I'll hear your anguish and try to bring forth you laughter;
I'll pick up the pieces and put you back together.
I'll try to ease your pain;
I'll walk out to you as you stand outside in the cold rain.
I'll help you realize something's wrong;
I'll listen to your meaningful song.
I'll be the one you can beg to stop the hurt,
And I'll be beside you as you kneel in the dirt.
I'll put back together whatever you threw in anger,
And I'll even find you a "passing" stranger.
I'll read your letter and try to give you a little satisfaction.
I want to see you radiate raw emotion,
So I can discover
that you're not as perfect as you seem.
