I Miss You
I’ve been staring at this screen for sometime now
And I can’t seem to find the right words to say
How much I love and miss you
How it grows worse every day.
That I can’t help but wonder
If you're doing fine
How I think I see you
That it may be in my mind
How sometimes when I’m out
I hope I cross your path
That you’ll see me and smile
Embrace me, and laugh
Because you missed me
And I was just on your mind
Then you lean down and kiss me
And that love again we’ll find
But, as I walk our lazy streets
And scan the crowd for your face
My heart falls parallel to my feet
‘Cause you’re nowhere in this place
Thought I spied you in your rearview
Wondered if you saw me, too
If you saw me in your rearview
Did you gaze upon the view
Or did you look and think, “She’s nice”
till you realized it was me
Did you think to speak…the thought twice?
Did you even notice me?
There’s plenty more that I could say
To describe how I long for you
Although I’ll love you every day
This time I realized that we are through.
