I glimpsed you all those years ago
And my heart was wrenched with strife,
For I was someone's husband,
And you were someone's wife.
How sad the years for me have passed,
How long the silence, within me, grew.
You'll never know how much I care
Or, how deep my love- does run for you.
But, blessed am I for friendship long
And blessed by friendship near.
