How It Feels
I know that you are afraid to love again.
You have been burned by love's flame,
and there will always be a scar.
With time it will fade,
but a true love is never forgotten.
It feels like the pain will never subside,
that the memories will never die.
But maybe that's good.
Some day you may need to lean on those memories.
I know how it feels to end something
that seemed so right at first.
Something you claimed would last forever.
Then, one day, the magic dies,
the feelings fade somehow, and you are left alone.
You are facing something

one day in the future, but not now...
