Burn For You

By: Poet 621

When moon, that diamond in the sky is flickering,
and everything is serene and at peace,
an inebriate heart upon the sky is gazing,
burning to hear your voice,
burning to think of you yearning,
because it has completely lost its poise,
as your image intervenes in its hankering.

When the glimmering eyes gradually become opague,
and dark clouds obcure that waxy moon,
a pair of lethargic eyes pores upward in dismay,
saturated with tears and finally, they swoon.

In wishful dream, in that phantom land,
an innocent mind was conquered by that illusion.
Dazed, it burns for you, to hold your hand.
Again, it burns to seek your apparition,
because wherever you hide or wend,
a besotted heart will trace you to the end,
to burn for you with flame that never can be snuffed,
and to burn with longing that never is enough.

When the dawn finally arises,
those stellar eyes gradually lose sight,
but there is a pair of eyes which, fatigued by time,
still pore upward, and a heart that yearns for the sublime,
and burns to hear the ethereal voice in its abode,
for that craven heart is timid to seek yours in this devious road.

When sky presents its dilute clouds,
a confused heart sees a feature in that sapphire sky
and it smiles again, a seraphic smile admist the clouds.
A diluted heart burns again with blaze that never dies,
and that heart is mine,
as if being inundated with wine,
drunk, unconscious...
and it simply burns, for no apparent reason,
but I know, it burns for you, only for you....
