Fading with the wind

By: Miss Phoebe

The way we were so tender
so soft and hopelessy ignorant
soaking wet in sweet surrender
we were young lovers
you were my sweet childhood friend
our hearts filled with loving emotions
our eyes filled with tears of joy
I was your sweet neighbor girl
and you were my sweet neighbor boy

We grew up in the 'hoods of 'loveness'
the summers were hopelessly romantic
and the winters were hopelessly cozy
the summer night sky was warmly yellow with orange
and the winter night sky was beautifully dark blue
there was you and me, only me and you

The years ran by like a nighttrain
the skies became only more blue
and I even cared more for you
the cold winters were warm with you around
the hot summers were burning hot with you around
but then the time came
leaves fell on the ground
dark, grey, awful clouds filled our skies
our love faded like the wind blowing by
things were happening with us
and we had no control at all
for some reason the sun that loved us
let us down, let us fall

My sweet childhood friend
our paths have split along the road of life
we spent our romantic summers alone, now
or with other lovers around us
we spent our cozy winters apart, now
with no loving emotions left
our ignorant minds can´t figure out what happened
so stop your trying in vain

our love went along with the night train
we have to accept the way things are
we were young and restless
like everyone had always said
they were right and we were wrong
goodbye to the summers
goodbye to the winters
goodbye, my childhood friend
I will love you…………
even in the end
