As I Lie

By: Mitch Snider

As I lie here under the stars,
I feel like getting into one of my cars;
Just to have a glimpse of you,
A kiss would be my cue.

As I lie here in the darkness,
I believe that I am fearless;
Thinking of what I could say,
While we walk along the bay.

Now knowing this shall never be,
A tear is just a small fear;
The price I’d pay to be with you,
Would be challenged by a certain few.
