Heaven and Earth

By: Bernadene Dionicio Arches

I often wander in this place,
Where the earth holds you in its warm embrace.
The flowers that bathe in my tears,
Adorn the site where God holds you dear.
And the wind that could not hold you,
Embraces me like you used to.
And each dry leaf that falls to the ground,
Tells me heaven is what you found.

A serene place is where I want to be,
Where love breeds and souls roam free.
Where the flowers that wither still breathe life,
As they blossom in the place of eternal life.
And when life closes its doors on me,
Earth shall embrace me for eternity.
Then you and I can cherish once again,
The love we once shared that your death has taken.
