Mirror Mirror - What Price Love?

By: Bill Charlton

Now we see in a Mirror dimly
Then we shall see face to face

But what do we see in reflection simply?
What fits us to win in our lovers race?

Our Brother's message was loud and clear
Love everyone as I love you and hear

A Clarion call dispel all the aged fear
Of a flesh driven world, then a heaven appears

A heaven appears upon bedrock of trust
In a Lord laying out his own body as crust

For the hungry and haunted, failed and daunted, lovers in lust
Laying out their liberty for world riches turned dust

So what do we see in reflection?
Can we see past that face of rejection

Into life? Past the strife, the knife of section
In a World of plenty---- with Love in election

Sin is simply that which stands between
Man and God and all Love means

To invest in hearts invention... blessed dreams
Of trysts of Grace and Peace... idyllic scenes

Idyllic scenes just set to come to life
Memories of sudden bursts of irridescent light

Flooding emotion, setting adrift the tacky tawdry tripe
Of daily strife, greedy rife and constant carping fight

What are these sudden bursts of irridescent light?
They are all based on emotion, lover's truest sight

Of heavenly values placed within, to soundly set in flight
The quantities of worldly things, pretence that might is right

The Lover's sound, the Baby's cry
The Child in want, the haunting Eye

The rolling Landscape, lashing Sea
The Mountain Grand and Humming Bird wee

The cry of hope, the brave man stand
Against the odds, the loss of land

For others on God's earth
And never mind the worth

Of worldly things

What is the pleasure in ten thousand set in servitude to you
Compared to the emotion of one lost, set free by thee

So GOD doth intervene
Truly set the scene

Of Life to come

The sound of child in laughter
Giggles loud and free

Hiccups in the take of air
Caused by act of me

And my life soars, away from earthly thing
Responding hard and strong to that celestial ring

Of hope that is heard
By the Man of the Word

Of Faith in Me
