One special night opened my eyes
A cool summer night in July
You sat with me and warmed my heart
That night we were never far apart
Almost four years are between us
But the fire and the stars above us
Took that thought out of my head

A few days later we were sitting in my car
We both knew that the end wasn't far
I'd be working for the next few months
Then off to school for three more months

My feelings for you, they started to grow

You left my side and waved goodbye
Then turned away and started to cry
I started the car and drove down the lane
Then the wind blew and it started to rain
The drive home was the longest drive
I didn't pull in till almost five
I already missed you so much
I missed your eyes and missed your touch
We knew that this was the only way
That goodbye was the right thing to say
