Brown

By: misty l. carter

I wrote your name in the sand, today,
Quickly and with ease.
With all the tender-loving care it takes
To write someone's name in the sand.

I stood by, then,
And gazed at the tide
As it crept upon my work.
Each little crash took part of You with it
Till your name appeared no more.

But, I remember what it looked like,
And each grain of sand I touched to form it
Will forever exist.
Don't you see!
It is the little things
That count.
