Longing Heart
I long for something that doesn’t exist.
I desire someone who truly understands me.
I don't even understand me.
Sometimes I think back to all the times
When I thought I had come across a dream
And they all turned out to be nightmares.
I remember times when I was so stupid,
When I didn’t jump at an opportunity
I should have jumped at,
When I did things I shouldn’t have,
And when I sat regretting mistakes
Instead of learning from them...
Like I am now.
I’m going to take my chances!
I’m going to do what my heart says!
But it’s my heart that got me here in the first place.
