Charlatan

By: Sunday B. Fakus

In the stream of ambiguous pleasure
I see my soul swiftly depleting.
And it blows in me like a wind,
Your magics and mesmerisms.

Such a fair-weather lover you are.
Filling my life with misleading schemes.
You bugged me and turned my mind
With frivolous illusions of your tricks.

Ambushed and hedged by your designs;
You cause my hope to rapidly diminish.
With your clouds of undetectable mysteries
You altered the principles of romance.

I’m through with a charlatan like you
With endless nights of unfulfilled dreams.
It’s such a welcome relief for me
To see through your selfish gimmicks.
