After You Left
I stare perplexed down the hallway
Where she once stood
She's gone now and everything good
Has ceased
I sit in the chair where she gazed
At me with her comforting smile
It's been a while, though it was
Only yesterday
I lean over the rail she perched at
Pretending to look down through
Her breathtaking eyes that
Beckoned I
I am still spellbound, not yet unwound
I'm, no doubt, in-love with the purest
Attraction, no lust
As the sun now sets without suprise,
I close my eyes because the sun
Shall never rise again unless I'm
In her presence
Could this be a cause so lost that
Desolation is the norm? or is this
How the flowers wait for storms in
Spring?
Whatever the case, I'm now in the
Hands of fate, waiting for the sun,
Waiting in your hallway, lonely
