Becoming A Man
You bring to a boy wisdom
That can only be taught by a man;
He's moving into adolescence,
So you help him as much as you can.
For the longest time
You went to every show,
Just patiently sitting there,
"Watching Scotty Grow".
You love him with all your heart
So you do what's best for him,
You know he doesn't agree
So the chances of him listening are slim.
Working with him in basketball,
Encouraging him in school,
You guide him to become a man...
And not look like a fool.
He knows everything you do
Is in the best interest for him,
Just give him a little time,
He will eventually give in.
