Daddy's Little Girl

By: Jenny Denise Gehlert

When I was a little girl,
you would come in the door with a bright smile,
I thought to myself, how big my Daddy is.

Then, with one sweep I was lifted up so high
I thought I could touch the stars... if I tried.

You guided and protected me through good and bad
You even came 3,000 miles to hold my hand
When I thought it was the end...

You listened to me cry,
Even wiped away the tears,
When my Grandpa died.

Even though the Lord has tested us,
We somehow managed to see tomorrow.

Dad, what I would like for you to know,
is that my love for you
has been tried and is very true,

I Love You!
