Thank you, Papa
Infinity joined his love, and wrapped my childhood
with unconditional acceptance.
History mattered, as it was shown to me
through gentle eyes;
Lessons to allow the importance
of little things;
Tall.
Callous hands cured my uncertainty;
work and hugs vied tenaciously;
Proudly.
Shoulders etched with wrinkled worries, held me,
sustained the weight of little tears;
Big.
I never wanted
for what matters most to a child:
Love.
No doubt about it; I was, still am.
How blessed is that?
Thank you, Papa
