Goodbyes
His eyes to me are like the sun,
Shining in the sky.
They brighten my day with every look,
Deep into those eyes.
The magic that I feel with him,
As he holds me close.
And looks into my eyes so deeply,
I've never felt like those.
He whispers softly in my ear,
How much he loves me so.
He tells me that he wishes,
I'd never have to go.
We stand a while in silence,
As he holds me tight.
I just don't want to say those words,
"I love you", and "good night".
But then, so gently, we loosen our hold,
And slowly move apart.
He tells me that he'll miss me bunches,
And that he loves me with all his heart.
Goodbyes are never easy,
Especially to ones so dear.
But if there's love within your heart,
Your loved ones will be near.
