A Soldiers Love
the life of an infantry soldier,
sometimes can be rough,
but countless hours in the field,
well that's what makes us tough.
we shoot our guns and pack our rucks
getting ready for a later day,
but there's always something in our minds
that leads our thoughts astray.
now i know guys with wives at home
and everything is good,
but the army has torn me from my unknown love
just like i knew it would.
theres are times when i should focus
on the mission taking place,
but then her face appears to me,
in all its beauty and its grace.
i hear my buddies talk of what
they'd like to do to girls,
but i would treat her like a princess,
if she were in my world.
so when i lay in the field at night
and look at the stars above,
i hope and wish and pray someday,
that she to will fall in love.
