Suicide

By: Kayla Jean Murphy

Why did you do it?
I can't seem to understand.
Why didn't we see the hints?
Why didn't you ask for a helping hand?

I would have helped you,
But you didn't see.
Now I want to commit it too,
Were you thinking... can anyone see the real me?

I know how it feels,
When nobody knows.
People making wounds that won't heal,
But just there to see the show.

None of us saw past the smile of yours,
No one saw your hurt, your pain.
None of us knew your heart soars,
Now look at the 'prize' we gain.

We never thought Samuel would commit suicide,
But that's what we all did see.
We all played along with your smile, while you decided to hide,
How stupid are we?

We're supposed to be there,
To help you when you're down.
We're supposed to be there to love and to care,
But it's too late, now.

I hope you know,
You'll truly be missed.
But you didn't have to go,
Especially... like this.

I wish I would have known,
I'm stuck with memories of you.
I can still smell the scent of your cologne,
I can even picture every detail about you.

I had a dream the night before that night,
I saw everything you did while commiting you suicide.
I know you put up a fight,
But you had no reason to die.

We should have put two and two together,
Why didn't it come to mind?
Now there's no more, forever,
Why didn't you tell us ahead of time.

That would have helped out a lot,
We could have stopped you.
You'll never be forgot,
But, now I know how people really treated you.
