The Drops of Rain

By: Aashiq Hussain Kachroo

The drops of rain are running down my cheeks,
Concealing the pain of the tears that flow.
Love is painful, patience it seeks,
Every time knocking a painful blow.

Aah! If only wishes came true,
I would like this rain to fall forever,
Never let my sorrow come to the surface.

Aah! the wishes are like smoke and mist.
They just make you wonder in the dark
Offering a shoulder only when it pains.

But my sorrow to me is a treasure to cherish,
For love is all about sorrow and pain.
My tears, my sympathy, and my sighs, my support,
My sorrow to me is my darling mate.

When you looked far ahead, the writing was on the wall.
All you got was shown to you.
Why this remorse then, when you knew all?
Why this sorrow and why this pain?

The love is painful –the bond you sign.
Then why do tears come out for show?
The cry of that losing soul is more painful,
That is what makes your tears to flow,
And I want this rain to fall forever,
Fall forever and conceal my sorrow and pain.
