The Invisible Fortress

By: stefan simmons guzowski

I always thought there was no mountain too high,
No obstacle too great to stand in the way of our love.
Then it happened.
The walls went up.
Too thick to be penetrated.
To high to even fly over.
No way to dig under.
No back door to sneak in.

Just fear blocked me from you.
No walls, no mountains.
But there was something in the way.
It was like an invisible fortress.
A fortress that kept me from what once was so important.
Hidden so close, but so far from me...you were trapped.
Hidden in the invisible fortress.
