Life Without Love

By: Norman Dean VanPelt

The most gentle heart
has been turned cold.
The feelings of love
have been sold.

The dream of love
has been taken away.
Feeling so empty,
my heart has decayed.

I loved the girl,
she loved me too.
She loves me no more,
this has made me blue.

I die inside,
from this promise of love.
Feeling so empty,
no help from above.

I live inside
this hollow shell.
When will I die?
I live in hell.

Live or die,
in this hell I burn.
He's spun the wheel,
now it's my turn.

My turn to spin,
around in my head.
Will I wake up,
or am I dead?

If I wake up,
I'll still live in this hell.
Life without love
is inside this shell.

"With this ring,
I thee wed."
These are the words
that will never be said.

Taken my love
and thrown it away.
I really don't wanna live
to see any other day.

Life without love,
why can't you see?
Down in my heart,
it's killing me.

The pain keeps ripping
and tearing my heart.
I've already died,
since we've been apart!
