Your eyes

By: David Kowal Griffen143

As I held you in my arms,
I looked into your eyes.
They were soft and timid,
yet bold and undefined.

They struck me like a chord
hid by a choir of angels.
Swooping and soaring
like the eagles so agile.

I look at the heart of another
through those windows of time,
I was humbled to think
about what you saw in mine.

We held each other
arm in arm
and I felt our hearts beat
as if they were one.

If I lose you
I won't know what to do.
But, for now I'll be happy,
as I look at my love in you.
