Death of the one I love
by Joe Carmichael Russell

I never thought I would ever love
someone quite like you, girl.
You were my world, my life
and I would die for you
If I was asked to... only by you.
Life got no better than where we were,
madly in love, always together
Never daring to be apart.
Until that day you left me for another.

I waited day upon night
hoping that you would come back
but, now, I know that you're not coming back.
I cried for days upon days
with the thought of you not being here in my arms,
being near, where I could touch you.
I thought, when you said forever... you meant it.
I never thought forever would come this soon in my life.

I had no choice but, to do this.
Right now, I have nothing more to show in my life. It's over.
Tears running down my face,
Agony in my heart
And love for you in my soul.
I write a letter to you saying,
"I love you, always, deeply, madly."
Then I take the gun and pull the trigger.
There are no more worries I have in my heart.
It's gone, I'm gone.
