A Prayer for our Valley
by Pamela A Walsh

Walk with me down a road
For which we do not know the end
To walk through our valley
And ford our streams

Trust me to take your hand
As we walk to the edge
And survey the wonders
Of our beautiful world

Let this valley take our breath away

Our valley is richly green
For it is continually growing
Nurtured by the sun and water
That freely falls

The streams can be heard to
Ebb and flow as they
Gently rush over swollen rocks
To gush forth and flow to the sea
Let this vally help us to appreciate the forces of nature

The valley is continually renewed
With the sounds of children's laughter
As they delight in discovering
Nature's wonders

They giggle as they run
Barefoot through the soft grass
Free to roam this beautiful world
That someday will be their own

Let this valley give joy to the one's we love

Sometimes we run quickly through the valley
To find shelter from the storm
And as the sun breaks through the clouds
We are scared no more

Our valley is continually renewed
By the forces of nature
To keep it growing and changing
Becoming more beautiful with each passing day

Let this valley be a reflection of us
