in and out of the light
by David  Fronius

sun bright
moonlit night
stars shone from her eyes
the feeling of love
were the colors I saw
when she entered my life
no flower sweeter
no air as fresh
no flame hotter
and to all this
I fell so swift
nothing was to compare
playing in the sun
loving under the moon
gazing with a grin
at the stars
who were our audience
I seem to have looked
up too long
I fear when I returned
to her face
she was gone
so I threw out the sun
turned off the stars
took down the moon
swearing nothing would
ever remind me
of sunshine
moonlit nights
and starry eyes again
