I Love You No Longer
by Michele M. Hernandez

How I wish you would simply call,
and just say those words that seem so small.

How I wish I could have tasted your lips,
touched your skin and breathed you in.

You meant the world to me that night.
My mind was spinning and Oh the Fright.

Are you telling the truth, or is it a lie?
Those are the questions that ran by.

My head is saying "don't believe him,"
but my heart was saying "be with him."

How I wish I could overcome the feeling in my heart,
but there's such a feeling I could never part.

We've never touched or even met,
but how I loved you and won the bet.

You said, "I love you!"
and I said, "No, you don't!"

In the end,
you weren't even a friend.

You just gave up!

Never called, never wrote, and never cared.
All the time that passed, I couldn't bear...

The fact of you lying was enough.
I thought what we had was true stuff.

We both lost in the end but I got stronger,
and I will love you no longer.
