I knew my world would come undone
The day you had to go
Shadows have cast across the sun
I think of you always- I miss you so

Those few words we share each day
Keep me holding steady
Why did you have to go away?
For this, I wasn?t ready

During those rare hours
When I get to see your face
Happiness overcomes me
And my pulse begins to race

You step in my direction
And take me in your arms
That void in my heart vanishes
And I am safe from harm

I wish you?d stay forever
But I know you must return
To the new life that has claimed you
You leave me here to yearn

The love we share will conquer all
And it will see us through
So I?ll be counting the miles and minutes
Until I can see you
