Leave me alone
by Erica Lynn Alexander

Promises made
And promises broken
Your memory begins to fade
Along with all the words spoken.
I've created my own personal hell
with no way to escape.
Trying hard to pick myself up after I fell,
It's harder than it seems.
Your image haunts me,
Along with your things I try hard to sell.
Leave me alone,
Go away,
Don't pick up the phone
'Cause I am sick of the games you play.
You played with my emotions
And now I'm moving up and on.
Slowly you're disappearing,
The scars you left slowly beginning to heal.
I've just about forgotten you and the you show...
Leave me alone
Go away
I'm growing stronger,
Better able to resist the temptation.
Not going to be held captive any longer.
This feeling is a wonderful sensation.
Your angry words and piercing glare,
Mean nothing more to me than a passing stranger.
You've gone away
You've left me alone
Your memory stashed away,
Only to be remembered on a distant rainy day!
