Slice of life
by Jerome Paul Johnson

Confusion is a fact of life
What do I do, Where is the answer?
Minimize the strife, Maximize happiness
Is that the goal of life?

Communications fail
Combattants rail against this slice of life
When will it happen? What is the target,
Where will I sail?

I work and strive
To stay alive
The effort possesses
A life of its own

What, When, Where and Why
Help me life
Define the objective,

Longings and issues
Are only the tissues
Of reality

Loving and being loved
Are real concerns
The depth of them is for us to learn
