Why did you go and leave me here
I want so badly to hold you near,
near to my heart, and love you so.
Why my love did you have to go?

Through the years you were my wife,
now how am I going to live my life?
Without your love to help me along?
Tell me Lord, where did I go wrong.

Many nights while you were sleeping
I sat beside you gently weeping.
Tears of Pain I knew were coming.
I'd check to feel your heart still drumming.

But then one night the beat was gone.
Death arrived before the dawn.
The doctor's prediction had come true.
There was not a thing that they could do.

The space beside me now is cold,
without you now I will grow old.
In my sleep I hope to pass away
To join you up above this day.

"Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
if I die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take."

And with those words the lights went low.
It was then, His time to go
and join his wife of far above.
To share again their ENDLESS LOVE.
