Miguelito Strikes Out
by Caroleena  Villeda

You were my famous Miguel Cabrera in Dodger blue
Yes, that's how special you were to me
Our relationship was like the seventh game of the world series
I stood at the mound admiring you
As I was sure you would hit it out of the park
STRIKE 1

But it was wrong of me to blow a curve ball
So I promised to make it easy for you
The situation would change
I promised
It was nothing but a fastball and yet
All I heard was
STRIKE 2

You know I love you
There was no way that I would have tried a change you
All I wanted was to hear the crowd go wild
h-o-h-o-m-h-o-m-e-r-u-n
Homerun!

I gave you an easy pitch
I gave you another chance
It didn?t matter that we were on opposite teams
My heart was bleeding the same blue as yours
So I let the ball out of my hand right over the plate
And I was amazed
I just couldn?t believe it
STRIKE 3
YOU?RE O-O-O-OUT!

And just like that
You turned your back to me
back into the dugout
...and right out of my life.
